LIVE is the way to go

This year has really kicked off with some fantastic events for us.

We had the pleasure of performing two times already this year, and both have been incredible as regards to the participation and vibe of the Maltese crowd.

Both playing at Sky Club on the 30th of January before the Guns’n'Roses tribute band and yesterday at the Unversity canteen made me realise that the Maltese are starting to understand the fun that can be had at a concert rather than the constant BOOM!BOOM! at the so called DANCE parties.

SEE YOU ALL SOON AT THE NEXT SCREAM DAISY GIG!!!

First Gig of the year

On the 30th of January we will be giving our first gig for the 2009 at Sky Club, supporting the Official Guns’n'Roses official tribute band from UK.

This will give us the opportunity to try some new tunes, so hope to see you all there.

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SCENE!!!

Seasonal Greetings and all that

We at Scream Daisy would like to thank all those who supported us during 2008. We would also like to wish everyone, even our enemies, a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.

May the next year be better than the last.

WTF Malta Awards 2008

The Malta Music Awards 2008 have passed by as I write this, and for those who interest themselves in this s**tty non-business we call local music, the results where so obvious that they hurt…literally.

Who has ever heard of a LEGEND award here in Malta? For God’s sakes lets start doing things seriously around here.  ”AND THE WINNER OF THE LEGEND AWARD, SPONSORED BY VODAFONE MALTA, GOES TO…” one guess!!!!!

Not to sound pretentious or anything but out of the 4 Best Album nominees, the winning one is the most pathetic, non-musical piece of work I have heard for quite some time.

Seriously have you ever heard of an award ceremony where you have to nominate yourself? And than publicly thanking the Awards Committee for nominating you?

We have long ago given up on these ceremonies and only go there for the booze and cause we enjoy performing to the crowd, I mean we are performers after all.

Having said that the Bay Music Awards are round the corner and I am betting all my monies on the usual….

See you all there…LOL

Scream Daisy announced Music Ambassadors of Monopoly Malta

Following my previous blog. This is the official PRESS RELEASE

This morning the Monopoly Malta team announced the second ambassador for Malta’s first board game. ‘In total, we have chosen four ambassadors to front this historic moment. Ambassadors coming from various fields of media, politics, business and music. When it comes to our music ambassadors we believe that our choice is going to go down well with Monopoly Malta fans. The Maltese ambassadors representing music are not only popular and successful, but have strived to put Malta on the world’s music map. Our Monopoly Malta chosen band is Scream Daisy’, Sabrina Mulligan confirmed.

With songs like the very popular ‘Pretty’, ‘Seeing is Believing’ and ‘Bees’, some of Scream Daisy’s songs which are some of our personal favourites, we are sure that the band are fantastic ambassadors for Malta’s first board game Monopoly Malta. Scream Daisy are one of Malta’s most successful bands, they have given Malta some memorable tracks, and continue to play an important role in the development of the local music industry.

Jotham Saliba, front man of Scream Daisy says, ‘Monopoly is one of my favourite board games, now having an edition created specifically for Malta is terrific. I can’t wait to buy Mdina, Valletta and other Maltese localities and build houses and hotels with no problems from authorities! Scream Daisy are proud to be Monopoly Malta ambassadors and will be playing what is now Malta’s favourite board game!’

In the coming days members of the production team will be travelling to Ireland to personally bring the first board game down to Malta. ‘We are presently taking orders from Monopoly Malta fans who would like to have their board game for Christmas. By calling Freephone 8007-37-87 Monopoly fans will be able to confirm that they will have their Monopoly Malta board game to enjoy this Christmas. To continue to celebrate this historic moment we will be providing free delivery of Monopoly Malta all over the Maltese Islands. Monopoly Malta fans ordering now will also get a €60 voucher to spend on appliances, beauty treatments, meals and accessories during the Christmas season. This is our gift to the Maltese for supporting Malta’s first board game, Monopoly Malta. The response has been overwhelming and I am very proud to say that Malta now is not only on the world’s music map thanks to talented bands like our ambassadors Scream Daisy, but are also on the world map due to the fact that we have our very own Monopoly Malta.

Monopoly Malta fans can log on to www.gamebox.com.mt to join Monopoly Malta celebrations and to learn more about our Maltese edition.

Who’s that Girl?

I was browsing youtube today, searching for any new video people might have posted of us performing, when to my surprise I found this very nice video using one of our songs, Headlights (in my rearview Mirror).

Apparently this “LONELY GIRL” made the video to spite her boyfriend for breaking up. Well all I can say is that with those attributes you won’t be lonely for long, girl.

Enjoy

Xarabank tonight (NOT)

Like it or not, we all know about this TV programme, and most of us have watched it, either as a whole or as stolen snippets in between stuff

I have been invited to perform a couple of songs, well 1 minute bits actually, in today’s programme.

I feel no particular sentiment for Xarabank, however, since this is the most watched programme on local TV, I think that it hits a nerve or something in our nation’s TV watchers.

Well, hope you enjoy my rendition of White Lion’s When the Children Cry and a tiny bit of our own Room 7 which should open tonight’s episode.

If I manage to capture them or if Where’s Everybody posts my performance on youtube I will add them here for your enjoyment…LOL
